Student Athletes Meal Program

We are preparing meals and looking to partner up with local restaurants to provide high school athletes the nutrients and energy that they need before competing.

Playing a highly competitive sport requires a high degree of energy.

I saw a need for this service while coaching for eleven years throughout Denver Public Schools. While serving as a coach – I found myself making and serving peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for football players before games. Many kids eat lunch between 11am - 12pm and by the time they leave for a sports game, they are hungry and lack adequate nutrition - which can hinder their performance.

We are working to provide these young women and men the pregame nutrition that will allow them to perform at their best.

Donations are highly needed to help feed these hungry athletes, and we are working with local neighborhood restaurants to provide support.

Children experience an enormous amount of daily stress and uncertainty. Why not step in and volunteer your time and provide meals to feed the high school athletes. A lot of high school kids are facing barriers at home: parents are not around to cook, provide their child a decent meal before their games, or not having money to buy food.

High school athletes spend anywhere from 12 – 15 hours a week in their respective sport. Not to mention balancing their social life, kids in disadvantaged homes; it’s easy to understand why many high school athletes have unbalanced lives. We can work together in helping alleviate any uncertainties about whether they are going to have a healthy meal before their game.

Poor eaten habits can lead to fatigue and they are at a high risk of getting injured during their game. We are here to help them get the essential proteins, carbohydrate, and fluids to sustain them through 2 – 3 hours of their rigorous sport.
